Large Professor is not only a good writer and MC, he is also very innovative and immensely creative musician and producer. He maximized the ability of the SP-1200 sampler, outstanding sense of rhythm of rhythm, and most importantly, a wonderful soul. Among others, he serves as an inspiration for anybody acheiving excellence, thank you for posting him.

Word! You're right! Large should've been there on Nas' Driven. I guess Nas forgot about the BBQ!LOL!

Main source was on point and I still got that tape. Man I never have to miss real hip hop, all I do is play real music . I'm glad i lived during the strongest times of hip hop. classic

To answer D-Nice's comments. Professor was never a commercial success for MTV nor VH1. It's sad that commercialism in hip-hop seems to be based more on negative attention, good looks, or controversial issues. However, Large P. was a poet and an excellent storyteller (hence, listen to the words in "Lookin' at the Front Door"). Most likely VH1 assumed if they bring up Large Professor they would have to use some ample time explaining who he was and his impact. It might have taken away from the Nas story. Just a thought though.

what happened with gods son?extra p was supposed to produce like half of that....they did a cover story in mass appeal interviewing them while they was workin on it in florida or some shit.

Extra P was a true MC and poet. He defined the 90's as one of the true leaders of the "New School", with a style that can never be copied by anyone.

An incredible hip-hop talent. A true lyrical genius with abilities that aren't seen much anymore. Much love, Large Professor!

He was a founding father to "true hip-hop"...pre
bling-bling era. Thank you Large Professor for
never faking the funk. God Bless!!!

Great artist and remained true to the underground for over a decade.
Refreshing to see him still around.

I was kinda hurt by the fact Extra P wasn't in the VH1 "Driven" about Nas. For someone who was so important in the development of one of hip-hop's greatest artists I found it odd that he wasn't on there. If anyone has any science on that I'd love to hear about it.
