the TR-808 is comin'....bright and early in the mo-o-rnin'......I had your single in middle school. I also had Edutainment and By All Means Necessary.....Edutainment may be the best album ever! I'm white and that song Blackman's in Effect used to get me hype....lol...I really fell in love with hip-hop when I saw
Krush Groove as a little kid. I hate sell out hip pop. It's just not the same anymore. I used to listen to this radio station the magic 88 in raleigh, N.C. growing up. They had all the cutting edge hip-hop, mostly from NYC it seemed like. The only west coast group I really dug was Heiroglyphics. Anyhow, everyone used to call me B-nice because I'd put that in as my name when we'd play NBA Live on nintendo and sega. Some of my friends still call me that to this day. I'm sure that name was inspired by you. I always feel like I had a kinship to you because I bit your name. I stumbled across your web-sight and couldn't resist telling you that. I really enjoyed some of the diary entries about the old days. It's neat to see what the people that I saw on tv and heard on the radio's real life was like. Keep up the photagraphy man. I think you have an eye for it. If a picture is worth a thousand words then you'll be able to express way more in pictures than you could have just rhyming. Take it easy dude.
Those lens skills are quite "advanced". I was just listening to "A Man and His Music" a few weeks ago (I still got the tape!!!), and i gotta say that the 86-89 pics were golden. Bro i'm sure if you could scrape enough of these up - you could get a book published. I'd damn sure buy it. Your pics remind me that i have to upgrade...i'm still using a Sony Mavica 1.3 Megapixel!!
I can't believe I been looking at pictures for the last 35 minutes! D... u are DEFINITELY doing your thing. How long before we have the D Panicoli picture book coming out? P.S. The AIN'T NO HALF STEPPING SERIES IS THE CRAZIEST!!!!!!!! TOOK ME BACK FOR A SEC
I am also an old school fan. Remember video juke box! My sister had a huge crush and you and I share the same initial (but I am a girl:). I always hoped you were still somewhere doing something positive and these pictures confirm it. Much props! These pictures are beautiful. I am from Philly and can really appreciate them. I wish you much success and hope to see an exhibit or book of your work soon.
HI D-NICE
I LOVE YOUR SITE AND ALL OF YOUR ENTRIES AND PICS ARE REALLY NICE.
IT REALLY TAKES YOU BACK. THAT FEELIN IN THE EIGHTIES WHEN MUSIC WAS REALLY THE ONLY UPPER TO ENJOYING LIFE. LIFE WAS VERY SERIOUS FOR ME IN THE EIGHTIES,MY FAMIILY WAS STRUNG OUT ON DRUGS AND ALOT OF THEM DIED LATER OF AIDS MY MOM IS THE ONLY SURVIVOR WITH IT. MY DAD DEAD, GRANDFATHER, AND OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS. ALL DROPPED LIKE FLIES. SAD CHILDHOOD BUT WHEN I HEAR OLD SKOOL HIP HOP IT MAKES ME SMILE EVEN THOUGH I WENT THROUGH ALL THAT..... IT WAS AND EXPERIENCE IT PARTLY TOOK ME THROUGH THOSE HORRIBLE TIMES CAUSE IT MADE ME DANCE AND BOP AND FORGET LIFES WORRIES.... MY HUSBAND WHO I MET WHEN I WAS 14 LUVS OLD SKOOL HE SEARCHES ON INTERNT FOR THE MUSIC...HE RECENLTY SEARCH AND SAERCH FOR YOUR ALBUM ON EBAY HE GOT OUTBIDDED SOOOOOO....MANY TIMES. HE SEARCHED ALL THE MUSIC SITES AND FOUND A PLACE THAT HAD YOUR CASSETTE...WHEN IT ARRIVED THE FIRST THING HE DID (4 DAYS POST HAVING ABDOMINAL SURGERY) WAS TO GO DOWN STAIRS GET IN OUR SUV..(cause it has a cassette player) AND PUMPED IT LIKE HE USED TO... WHEN HAD THE LITTLE BLUE ISUZU WITH LARGE SPEAKS AND AMPS AND PUMP REALLY HARD THROUGH THE PROJECTS.... THAT WAS REAL RAP.NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS OTHER STUFF I WOULDNT EVEN PLAY IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT. WE DONT EVEN ALLOW OUR KIDS TO HEAR THIS NEW STUFF!I DONT LISTEN TO ANYWAYS IT. BUT THE OLD SKOOL STUFF CAUSE ITS REAL... ITS FROM BACK IN THE DAY AND ITS OUR EXPERIENCE ... IT GAVE US SOMETHIING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT.

You did your thing D! You make Philly look like a beautiful place for those who've never been. M.Night Shymalan should hire you to shoot his movie stills since he shoots all his flicks there (Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, The Village.) Good luck
