Yo D! It's good to see you still got that vibe with you. I'm stationed over here in S.Korea (ARMY) and I got to say-it was refreshing to see one of the pioneers of REAL HIP-HOP still doing his thing! Word! I be trying to school these younger cats on how hip-hop was back in the day and how much it has changed. It hurts me as an m.c. knowing that these kids have no idea who you are!But it's all grits--i'll make sure they come around and start doing they homework. But yo'-keep doing what you do and stay positive~ONCE! a.k.a AESOP B.C.M.(Queens)
I don’t want a dream cuz I have nightmares most nights
I have goals, a purpose, a mission, for my life.
I wake up in a cold sweat, happy to be alive
Pray before I lay me down, and hope that I survive.
Somebody once tried to sell me a dream
It didn’t have a warranty
I told them I didn’t want it
Cuz somebody wise had already warned me.
The fool told me I could have things the fast way
The dream would make me rise
What he failed to mention though was that
When I awoke, it’d disappear before my eyes.
Glad I didn’t fall for it
Kept my dreams for when I rest
And while I am awake
I just strive to do my best.

This was just a little freestyle poetry that I came up with this morning. I typed it, read it, titled it with sarcastic cynicism, then laughed at it. I entertain myself. DOES THAT MAKE ME A NUT? (note: this question is purely rhetorical.)
