I Thought I Told You That I Won't Stop

The last 2 weeks have been great for my career. I went from deejaying at 3 of Puffy's VMA parties in Miami to photographing 50 Cent's next Reebok campaign. I remember saying to myself that I wouldn't feel complete as a party deejay until I rocked at one of Puff's events. Thanks to some friends campaigning for me, and as Puff put it, Chris Lighty banging him over the head, I was granted that opportunity.

It was actually a pretty interesting weekend. The best part of the trip was the impromptu party I threw in the lounge of the Ritz Carlton South Beach. The storm had just hit Miami and since we couldn't leave the hotel, I phoned the rooms of a few friends and we all got together for drinks and played cards.

After returning from Miami, I received a phone call from Lighty asking me to photograph 50. I will admit to being nervous but what kept me focused was the fact that I know how Lighty thinks. No matter how cool we are, he would never jeopardize the quality of 50's work for the sake of just looking out for a friend. I guess it's official, I am a working photographer.

D, I definetly would like to get all your info for some shoots I got in mind. I did'nt know you were this good. give me a holla.Peace

keep up the good work. I been a fan since BDP.

The pictures are great, Keep up the good work! Also your very photogenic...The camera loves you. I expect too see some shots of you to. My friend, Terry Dehere owns a Restuarant/Bar/Lounge
called "The Blue Ribbon", the only triple threat in Jersey City. But anyway...what I was getting at was he had a huge bash and I met Dana-Dane there. He was cool too. We even spoke about Opus22 and he told me he was @ the party you threw for Red Alert. I told him I was also invited by you and it's a small world. He was doing his thing that night. That's my brotha'from another motha'(that's how cool he was) I mentioned this because I noticed some pics of Dana on the sight.

Wow! What amazing work from an amazing young man. It is just so nice to know that you still out here doing your thang! Holding it down! I use to have a mad cruch on you back in the 80's when we both were so young....ahhhhh, those good memories of rockin your music, lusting to kiss dem sweet looking lips! Just keep doing what you do baby, and One Love!

Man, I thought I saw you in the lobby of 50 Cents movie in Las Vegas. It has been a looong time. The last time I saw you before that was at some club in San Fran.. I think it was either DV8, Townsend or damn.. I can't remember..But man you tore shit up. That night is still in my mind!!! I would love to feature you on the station. Let's build! Keep doing you!!!

Yo I love your work but most all it's good to see that your happy and you love what you do, because it shows in your work. An artist is an artist if he works with a mike or carnera, you can still see D is Nice.

Peace Cuz. Yea it's Sugar-Ray your cousin's father Shawn. I read your story on Larry Davis it was all good. But do not forget who ran the west side before Larry davis came up. remember that larry used to chill with me and my peoples and learned how we used to move.If a story is what you need, just think about what we did and how we did it. I was also interview twice in Don Diva about my life sytle. so always bear in mind that you knew the best who ever did it and I'm still walking on the planet. Holla (646) 529-5250. Oh by the way i still see Mcboo at the clubs..

What up D! It's funny.... I was listening to 'Self Destruction' in the car this morning and I was wondering to myself, 'I wonder what ever happened to D-Nice?' Then I get home go online and on MSN I see a link to a Hip Hop Radio deal.... I click on it and I spot your name and your website! I'm happy to hear you took up photography! I am a freelance videographer/editor in this reality game out of LA right now. Any plans to release any more albums? I miss ya bra! 'Takin' out you succas and you don't know how I did it!' Classic man! I used that beat in the early 90's to battle rap against Will I AM (formerly Will 1X) of the Black Eyed Peas at a club called Ballistics in Hollywood. The crowd went Bananas!!!!!!

D-Nice...Man, it's good to see you evolving to the next stage of your career so nicely. From someone that came up listening to you back then, It feels good to know that so many of the people I idolized are still pressing foward and making things happen. You're a perfect example of artists realizing their other talents and skills outside the music industry AND MAKING IT ALL WORK.

Nuff Respect.

A yo I aint heard ya name in a sec, but i know all about you from back in the days..you still get props..cause i remember real hiphop..stay up playa..big ups from Bmore

Yeah, bro! I'm glad to see you're still in the mix of things after all these years. They should've paid tribute to you as well during the Hip Hop Honors the other day on VH1. To this very day, I still rock 'They Call Me D-Nice' in the ride every chance I get. The lyrical flow is more stimulating than a 32-ounce cup of Starbucks coffee in the morning! Keep up the good work, and I'm putting your site on lockdown right now and will visit it every week. Peace!

Thanks God for the internet. Major Big up to you D-nice! Your photos are hot to def!Glad to see you doing your thing and still a part of the game! I am a big fan of yours and BDP! This is my first time on the site... I just stumbled upon it. I like it, it's hot! Didn't know you were into photography. You definitely have to put up more pictures of yourself, so I can save one as my desktop background! :-)

HOLLA!

D-NICE - omiGOD, I've been a fan of YOURS (AND had a crush on u;-) since the 80's! Why should U be nervous around ANY of these NEW cats? If it weren't for U (& the other originals) they wouldn't BE here! 50 ought to be nervous around U! Glad to see you're still here with us & still working, D-NICE! and I STILL think You're one of the FINEST men in Hip-HOP EVER!

Dang, D

What's goin on?, I am new to your website but I am glad that I have found it. I am glad to see that your are doing your thing. Since I have moved to Atlanta, it seems like everywhere I go I here your name. I am glad to see that you are not limiting to yourself to just one thing. Keep believing in yourself and never limit yourself to what you can and want to do! I am looking forward to seeing more of your photography, please don't stop.

Beautiful D!! Simply beautiful...Sky's the limit. You never left....Need an assistant???

soon as we get this label deal....we're gonna hire you to take some flicks for us...u got skillz kid!

Just heard the June '05 Nottingham sermonare with KRS on 1xtra. KRS spoke about conquering ones fears and brotha thats what you did on the 50 shoot. Coming from over 11 years in business management...you are right, no one jeopardises their professional reputation to hook a friend up. You brought your best and now have the experience that will allow new opportunities for you. Next time you visit South Carolina remember carrots & tomatoes.com..from one D to another....peace!

Ill son thats all I got to say D!! Its great to see that you have totally reinvented yourself and still takin out the suckaz!

You really should do a book of the hip hop world & culture through your lens eye....Good work Lata Cee

From one photographer to another, Congrats on taking it to the next level. It won't be too long now; I can see it all; D-Nice teaching seminars on how to shoot musicians in Popular Photography; then guest teaching at the Scratch Academy. You're a true Hip Hop rennasance man!

Think about that book but it's good to here from you it's been awhile. The pictures where worth the wait.

Cool images. The Dana Dane b&w speaks volumes. Something haunting about it.
