International D - Day One: Paris France

After a 7 hour flight, we finally arrived. What's amazing about my life is that, most times, I never know where I will be a week in advance. This trip was presented to me 5 days ago and now here I am, in the city of love. Although I am without that special person I would love to share this experience with, I plan on making every moment memorable.

I thought I would be able to walk around the city and fully take in the beauty of Paris but, as soon as we checked in our hotel rooms, we had to head over to the television studio to rehearse for the enormously popular "Star Academy", France's version of American Idol. The rehearsal lasted hours.

After the rehearsal ended, I decided to walk around the city and capture a few images. I didn't take as many as I would have loved to because I was exhausted. After 30 minutes, I headed back to the hotel and so that I can catch up on some much needed rest. I slept for maybe 3 hours and then met Puff and the crew at a club called VIP. I will use one word to describe the club... "HOT"! It must have been 150 degrees in there!

Well, my battery is running out, and I am sitting in the lobby of the hotel. Time to go. Enjoy the pics.

d,
Thank you for taking me to Paris via your beautiful photos. The black and white imagery captures the sultry atmosphere the city must surely radiate. I love the night sky versus the lighting of the town. the classic architecture just pops. There's an aura you've captured that allows the city to be perceived as extremely romantic. Thank you for the trip. I look forward to y(our) next one. Continue to shoot and strive...blessings, Helen

I loved Paris. Fly city. It will probably be an even better experience in the fall without the tourists of summer. Enjoy!

Hey d-nice,

Thank you so much for replying to my MySpace message, I look forward to hearing from you when you're not as busy!

These night shots by the way are FANTASTIC! lots of mood...and I especially like the blur and tilt in the fifth shot, very cool.

Keep the photos coming and enjoy traveling the world...it's the best way to live.

peace out.

I've been to Paris a couple of times. Love the street photography shots. You're Globetrotter D now.

Looks like downtown Manhattan to me. Pretty sure the atmosphere was a lot more different though.

Man, you are loyal to your fans. I love these. It's just how I remember it...I have video that mimics the images that you have here. Wow! It's beautiful there in the fall...we were there in September. I hope you enjoy yourself tremendously and if you get a chance to go to a museum, check out the British Museum's Egyptian exhibit. I have no idea if it would still be the same after all of these years, but I believe that's where the sphinx is...if I am not confusing it with the other museums we went to. The louvre is really cool, too, of course. Notre Dame. I know you are on business, but hopefully you will have time to see some art.

Oh, and I have this memory of going into these clothing boutiques and I took a picture inside one of them and the lady went OFF on me, but it's a great shot so well worth it...I say that only to say be careful and consider yourself forwarned that they may get snippy with you:)I also remember seeing dogs everywhere...they take their dogs to the little cafes and restaurants and shopping for clothes and everythang. You have probably heard before that the countryside is beautiful in France. It is. Me and my sister took the train from Paris to Nice. It's nice, but there are some ghettos in France, too...remember all of that burning cars they were doing not too long ago. They ain't no joke over there.

Ever since you said you were on your way there, I have been having all of these memories of Paris. I really loved it there. Get you some good memories, homie. I'm happy for you.

OK I'm rambling something vicious now, I will just look one more time at your pics and then go ahead and be inspired for the day and handle my biz. Thanks for the morning pick-me-up.

The pictures are beautiful! Enjoy yourself!
