Leica M8 Photoblog (11): Exploring Joshua

In order to keep life fresh and exciting, you have to be open to new experiences. I'm constantly discovering new things that I love about life and re-discovering the things that I may have initially overlooked because they seemed, well, quite boring. I recently visited the Joshua Tree National Park located in Twentynine Palms, California. I'm going to be completely honest here, going to a national park wasn't on my list of places to visit. After visiting Joshua Tree, I am officially getting back into nature.

I was just out in this area last Month(June). The air temperature at 65 mph was 118 degrees. But it looks like you chose a good time of the year to visit D.

Peace
I used to be stationed in the USMC at 29 Palms...I have seen landscapes so beautiful...I just stood there with tears flowing down my face.
Sometimes because I was grateful...sometimes because I knew cats back home that would grow old and die without ever seeing anything but the hood.
thanks D-Nice for bringing back those memories...
PEACE

I really appreciate and enjoy your photo blogs, D. I appreciate the beauty and the sense of "back to reality" that you are bringing to the forefront. You and Malinda continue to be blessed and enjoy the life and love that you have with one another. We can definitely use more of that nowadays.

D-
Nature ROCKS (period). I'm glad you had a chance to re-realize it and as a visual artist, you'll definitely see its affects in your work.
I really like the photo on the pavement with the street lines. Very nice- That piece is going to look good in a frame.
Take Care,

D... you have been blessed with gifts from God that others would die for, I know I would. Alot of people have gifts but don't try to use them. Thanks for using your gifts and sharing with us(me).
You have given me a little urge to dabble into nature. I am not a nature person. LOL
Peace.....Love.....Elation

Gorgeous. Some of the pictures are so perfect, they look like paintings. You have a beautiful gift.

I'm with you on that. I didn't grow up with a family that was outdoorsy. . .Not so much where we went on trips and the like. Amusement parks, yes and other local establishments, but nothing that would be indicative of national parks, camping, etc.
A good friend of mines hipped me to camping, and national parks. Gorgeous, serene, and a place I believe that all people should experience. That, and the beach - However, I live in both a coastal city and state, so that's a no brainer for me.

these are some of my favorite of your photographs. the angles of your shots, the way you emphasized the shapes within the natural landscape, and the perspectives are very appealing to the eye.

Wow! Absolutely breathtaking images. I noticed that you changed your watermark. ~Awwwww~ sweet. And you thought you didn't know how to love "properly" (per March 2006 blog "Give me Free). Looks like someone's teaching & you're learning. What a journey it is.
It's cute how you hid behind the tree and caught her deep into her book:) I love you guys...thanks for letting us tag along in the backseat on this roadtrip.
I especially like the one from the road with the yellow line. Great composition That one speaks to me.
I don't know much about this landscape, I will have to look it up and find out more about the Joshua tree.
