D-Nice TV Presents: True Hip-Hop Stories - YZ
I had the chance to interview golden era rapper YZ and discuss the making of his late 80's classic recording "Thinking Of A Master Plan". We also touched on family life and how he's coping with being legally deaf.

I REALLY FELT AND UNDERSTAND WHAT YZ WAS SAYING ABOUT HIS HEARING. ALOT OF YOUNG PEOPLE NEED TO LISTEN TO YZ INTERVIEW.
THANK YOU

Thanks os much for great perosnally felt blog, i was looking up stuff from back in the day that influenced me in funny ways, i'm a punk from new zealand and lived on niue for 3 years, redhead kingpin isn't large on my list but has led me to my path in music.

Really glad to have been able to watch this. The most impressive thing about this interview was the spirit and demeanor YZ exhibited. It's amazing to see and hear the older version of rappers/singers I grew up listening to. Hip-Hop (from our era) definitely cultivated us more than corrupted us and I'm thankful for that.

Excellent feature. However, D-Nice should know that the "old-school" ended in '83. ;)

I STILL bang that "Master Plan" track. It is still relevant. It's a timeless classic! I appreciate everything that brotha YZ had to say and our younger people need to understand that their health is extremely important. I will have to come back here more oftern for the updates!

Great interview D-nice...This is great especially because most hip hop artist and fans from this era are approaching their mid to late thirties...It's around this time that some things we did or didn't do in our teens and twenties can begin to affect us...We need to take care of our bodies, a good lesson for the young and the older...

This is a Great Interview! It had a very Positive Message. Life is not Easy but it is definitely what you make of it. We are being tested each and everyday with challenges. Staying Focused, Positive and Strong is a daily challenge in itself. YZ definitely seems like he is a very Positive and Strong Person. Family is very important. Teaching and guiding our children is extremely important. Everything I do is for my Son and providing him with a very healthy and positive Life. Again..An Excellent and Encouraging message! The Footage was put together Very Nicely!

This is some solid footage of YZ. I appreciate the emotion, the message, and the whole nature of how you get down with this video hustle. I love how you use this format to tell other peoples stories. Isn't that what this life is all about? I dig it.

I think this was your best interview to date. Just the fact that YZ shared with us that he is living with a disability, but not letting his disability define him spoke volumes.

Wow....what a beautiful and powerful story/interview.. I hope this becomes some kind of documentary movie because this segment alone needs to be seen, heard, felt, everything... Incredible...

I was telling a friend about this H.O.T. site I've been reading for just about a week now and promising to pass on the URL. It just so happens that she's going deaf. This video is moving on so many levels. It's good to see so many of the people who changed the face of hip hop have continued to grow in knowledge, in love, in life.

Wonderful interview. I would love to hear more stories like this. Is this going to be apart of a larger documentary or is it apart of a web series? What ever the case. Keep it up! The vids and photagraphy are dope.
