The Main Ingredients Part 2

Ok, so it has been a minute since I've had a new journal entry. I have been so busy lately that it has been difficult for me to write one. Before I get into details I would first like to thank everyone who attended my birthday celebration. I've DJed at many parties and I felt like my party was the best party of the year! The turnout was totally unexpected. There were over 1,000 people that showed up.

The music was off the hook! Special thanks to DJ's Wiz, M.O.S., Hot Day, Cassidy, Herbert, Butta L & Evil Dee for taking us back musically. There were 5 young ladies who really made things easy for me that night and they are Danielle Shingleton of BED, Ali, Nicole & Lindi of September Communications, and CC. They totally held me down that night and I want to say thank you ladies. They made sure I didn't pull the camera out that night! Also, thanks to Chris Lighty! As soon as I tried to DJ, CL hit me on the blackberry and told me to get off and have fun. And trust me, I had fun!

Of course there were plenty of celebrities in the building. I would like to thank Kwame, Eric B, Talib Kweli, Dres, Tommy Davidson, DJ Red Alert, Dana Dane, Mr Bentley, Jermaine Dupri, DJ Scratch and Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat for all attending. Special shout out to Kenny Mac & Rich Harrison (producer for Beyonce & Amerie) for keeping the Patron Silver in my hand! Believe me when I tell you I was DRUNK! Last I would also like to apologize to those that could not get in because we were at capacity.

Now, let's talk about what's new. Many of you know how much I love photography and I how I never wanted to go pro with it. Well I received a call from a young lady at Warner Brothers by the name of Mio. She had so much faith in my abilities that she met with Violator Management and suggested that I photograph Lil Scrappy for the 50 Cent tour. Initially I was going to turn it down but after speaking with Mio and CL & Laurie of Violator, I knew I had to do it. They all believed it would be a great career move. I'm glad I listened. It was a great shoot. I would like to thank Mio & Denise of Warner Brothers, Lil Scrappy & Lil Jon, Jonathan Mannion, Ryan Dixon, and last but not least, The Violator Crew for giving me my first music industry photo shoot!

Now for those of you who are in the mood for a throwback party, I got one for you! Next Thursday night, July 7th, at the Canal Room, located at 285 West Broadwat at Canal Street in New York, I am having a party that will happen once a month called "The Main Ingredients". It's a night of dancing to old school music the way Q-Tip, Mark Ronson, Just Blaze & myself used to put it down at Table 50 on Thursday nights! There's no charge and RSVP is a must! Send me an email to rsvp@d-nice.com to be added to the list. Be prepared to dance!

Also, for all of you 50 Cent fans, check out his new RBK/G-Unit online stickball game, log onto:

Enjoy,
DJ
