A DAY IN ST. BARTHS

As many of you may know, I'm currently vacationing in Anguilla. This has been one of the most amazing trips I've ever experienced. The island is absolutely beautiful. Yesterday, I had the chance to visit St. Barths for the very first time. I flew to the island with Chris Lighty and his wife, and a group of friends, who are also vacationing with us.

I never quite understood what the hype of St. Barths was all about. That was until I stepped off the plane yesterday. As soon as I walked out of the airport, I ran into Sylvia Rhone. After having a brief conversation with her, the great Russell Simmons walked up and I was able to converse with him about the beauty of the island and what I should expect to see. At that point, I realized that I needed to walk around the island to fully understand it's beauty.

Happy Holidays

2005 has been an incredible year for me. I would like to thank everyone for taking the time out of your day to read my journals. What started out as a way for me to promote a party ended up becoming the one thing that allowed many of you to discover whom I am, and most importantly, it helped me re-discover myself.

I would like to thank the many supporters that have attended my parties and danced all night! Many of you have partied with me from the Table 50 days. It's your familiar faces that gets me through the night and it's your dancing that allows me to be unafraid of playing an Al Green or a Camp Lo song during the peak times of a party!

Yesterday, I was speaking to Shakim of Flavor Unit management about the success I've had in 2005 as a dj. I told Sha that people come out to my parties to hear good music. He disagreed and said that it was much bigger than just music and that people come out simply because they like D-Nice. I hope Sha's theory is true.

Happy Holidays to you all.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith

I had the chance to hang with Will & Jada last night as they celebrated the 40th birthday of Will's longtime friend Charlie "The First Out The Limo" Mack. Here are a some images from the party as well as a few images from the Evil Dee & Mr. Walt Sunday NIght Classics Party, where I ran into Sway, Rich Nice, Dana Dane, Lady B, and a few others.

True Hip-Hop Stories

I was talking to Chris Lighty the other day and we were throwing around different ideas on how we can tell our stories online. After that conversation I decided to add a new feature to my website called "True Hip-Hop Stories." Each week I will upload a different video blog where I will share my experiences. I will also interview different people from time to time.

The Latin Quarters Revisited

I was invited by Rolling Stone magazine to dj at their "Icon's of Hip-Hop" event last night. It was my first time in years sharing the bill with fellow hip-hop legends like Biz Markie, Big Daddy Kane, and Doug E. Fresh. Also in attendance were the Sugar Hill Gang, Dana Dane, Kwame, Kool Herc, Melle Mel, Greg Nice, Black Sheep, Just-Ice, Busy Bee, Grand Master Caz, Craig G, DJ Wiz, and a host of others. Let's not forget superstar managers Chris Lighty & Shakim. It totally took me back to a club called The Latin Quarters, where we all pretty much got our first start as performers. I had the entire night recorded for the new D-Nice podcast that will be live on my site starting in January. Until then, I will bless you with a clip of the Big Daddy Kane performance.
